Per CMS recommendations, only the NPI and date of deactivation are provided for deactivated NPIs.
Welcome to NPIViewer! Let's take a quick tour of the features this tool has to offer...
The first stop is the Search function - you can click this at any time to get back to the main search page.
If you have a single NPI ID and you want to see the provider's information in a user-friendly format, enter it here and click Search.
If you don't have an NPI, you can enter in a name to search by. NPIViewer will search all the providers in the database and present you with a list of potential matches.
This is where NPIViewer really shines - let's say you have a list of hundreds of NPIs that you need provider information for! You can copy & paste the list here, with 1 NPI per line...
... and get back an extract in HTML, CSV, or Excel formats! This makes it easy to import multiple providers into your EHR or billing system.
Or you can give us a list of provider names, and get back a list of NPIs for likely matches.
NPIViewer gets its data from the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System and loads the update files on a regular basis.
Are you having trouble with NPIViewer? Or do you have an idea for enhancement or other feedback? Support will take you to our ticket system where you can create a ticket and an NPIViewer admin can assist you.
While the basic features of NPIViewer are free (but limited), paid users get unlimited searching and additional premium features.
